H.E.D. 2015 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER!
I am Kamace Nickerson. I was born in one of the most beautiful, vibrant cities - Dallas, Texas and later moved to a nearby city named Garland where I was nurtured and taught by many impactful professionals and coaches. I currently attend the University of Texas at Arlington, as a Senior (Whoooop! Class of 2017!!) , where I am an Exercise Science major and Spanish minor within the College of Nursing and Health Innovations! I plan to attend Occupational Therapy School following graduation.
Outside of educational pursuits, I also help make up a family of 6; My caring parents, Corey, Sr. and Kenda & three awesome siblings: Kendrick, Kashmere, and Corey Jr. Reflecting back, I wouldn't have chose to grow up with any other family but mine. I didn't understand each hardship, frustration, circumstance, or belief at times... but one thing I know for sure today: My family loves me to the best of their ability. So, oftentimes, I seek ways to relay this message of Love... God's Love... The love that was shown through the ultimate sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I am moved by that, because He has become the very source of my strength, the breeze beneath my wings in the time of solitude, and the peace that rest between my ears in moments I've drifted afar. He IS.. my soul's anchor! As one of the mothers from my home church would say, "I thank God for Jesus!"
And, Thank you to Lee Walker who never fails to share scholarship information with me!
A special thanks to The H.E.D Family for this amazing opportunity!!
